Saint Martin de Belleville is a traditional French alpine village, located at the entrance to the Belleville Valley. It’s easy to see why this resort is something of a well-kept secret. While it doesn’t have the glamour associated with larger resorts like Courchevel or Meribel, it offers a genuine village experience combined with a great ski area, especially for beginners and intermediates.

Saint Martin de Belleville is an excellent choice for skiers who want easy access to world-class slopes while enjoying the charm of a traditional Alpine village. In fact visitors think St Martin de Belleville is all the better for being less commercial and quieter, and we couldn’t agree more!

Saint Martin de Belleville at a glance …

Number of Runs: Saint Martin de Belleville is a quieter base, but it provides access to a variety of runs:

  • 3 green runs (beginners),
  • 10 blue runs (intermediates),
  • 8 red runs (advanced),
  • 1 black run (expert).

Ski Area Access: It serves as a gateway to larger resorts. A fast gondola from the village connects skiers to Les Menuires and Val Thorens, offering more challenging runs and extensive off-piste opportunities.

Altitude Range: Saint Martin de Belleville sits at 1,450 meters in altitude, but skiers can access higher terrain, with the top lifts reaching nearly 2,850 meters on nearby peaks, ensuring good snow conditions throughout the season.

Great for Intermediates: The village is ideal for intermediate skiers, with scenic blue and red pistes leading directly to the village. Popular runs like Jerusalem offer long, flowing descents with panoramic views.

Charming Tree-Lined Runs: Skiing back to Saint Martin often involves beautiful tree-lined pistes, which provide a scenic and sheltered descent, especially during snowfall.
