Children's Ski Lessons

Every child learns differently — that’s why our children’s small-group lessons are designed to bring out the best in each young skier. With just a few kids per group, friendly instructors tailor the pace and activities to match every child’s ability and confidence.

Kids learn, laugh and make new friends while improving their skills in a fun, supportive environment. Small groups mean faster progress and happy memories on the mountain.

Every child wears a bright Snow School helmet cover so we can spot them easily. At the end of the week they receive a Snowlife Award certificate, badge and a photo with their instructor.

Where you are: Children who have never skied or not yet mastered a snowplough.

The aim: Get familiar with the equipment, snowplough turning, explore nursery slopes and green runs, learn speed control and use a button lift.

01

Level 1

Where you are: A strong snowplough with skis becoming parallel at the end of each turn.

The aim: Ski with a strong, controlled snowplough, focus on parallel skiing and become comfortable going faster on easier slopes.

02

Where you are: Confident parallel skiing, with a small wedge on harder terrain.

The aim: Exercises and games to make skis consistently parallel on all terrain, plus an intro to pole-plant turns.

03

Level 3

04

Level 4

Where you are: Ready for the thrills of bumps, steeps and a bit of off-piste.

How to book

Booking with us couldn’t be easier — our friendly, expert team is always here to help.

What to Expect:

One your first day please arrive about 10 minutes early so we can can introduce ourselves and the instructor. Our friendly instructors will chat with your child and get them ready for a great time on the snow. On the first day all groups will meet and harmonise the levels, we will continue to do this throughout the week if necessary.

Every child will wear a bright Snow School helmet cover, so we can spot them easily on the slopes. Helmets are a must for safety, and we recommend goggles over sunglasses.

Its recommended for them to have a small snack & bring €6 for a warm hot chocolate during break time — the perfect treat between ski adventures!

Why Snow School?

Fully qualified instructors (plus DBS and First Aid) who are experienced in teaching children and know how to make lessons interesting and fun!

Same instructor for the full week. Groups taught by Ski Level so children are with other children of a similar ability

Variety of lesson lengths, time slots, and sessions for older or younger children. Snow Life Ski Awards badge at the end of the week for all participants

Private lessons are also available if a group lesson isn’t quite right for your child

Why choose The Snow School?

We know every child learns in their own way — that’s why our small group lessons are kept personal and supportive. With fewer children per instructor, your child gets the guidance they need to grow in confidence, learn and have fun with new friends. Our caring, experienced instructors make every run safe, exciting, and memorable.

Do you offer full day group lessons?

If you’d like your child to be in lessons all day you have the option of adding private lesson. Our 3 day part week private ski lessons are very popular! They are either on Sun, Tues & Thurs or Mon, Wed & Fri. The instructor will take them for lunch after the morning group lesson and then for a ski. We call it our ‘Lunch and Ski’ option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please do check our levels chart for your children before booking. Its important to have them in the right level from at the start of the week. Of course, we always harmonise groups throughout the week to ensure everyone is in the correct group.

Yes, our instructors are either native or fluent in English. Our group lessons are delivered in English. If you have any other language requirements we can offer private lessons.

Not always, children learn and progress at different paces. It is quite normal for some children to stay in the same group level for more than one year, especially between the levels of 1-3. Our ethos is for the children to feel safe, have fun and keep them engaged. The progression then follows at a fast pace. Our instructors are super patient, fun and professional experts.

All children must be suitably dressed, goggles and helmets are compulsory for all children. Even on a cloudy day the sun can be strong, so SPF is a good idea. Layers is important so you can add/remove if you wish. Please check every day your child has their ski pass in their left side pocket. Please ensure your child has some money on them each day for a drink/snack stop. Please provide them with a light snack.

It depends on the week but it ranges from 2-9 children per group.

Children can get tired or cold easily, our instructors realise this and will take that into account when planning their lessons. The children will have a break in the middle of the lesson for this reason. If your child feels unwell or the instructor feels that they are unable to continue with the lesson we will contact you and ask you to collect them. When booking we need a contact telephone number for when you are in resort. Please make sure you carry your phone during the day.

Before booking its important to take a look and read our levels page and we can help you during the booking process to ensure this does not happen. If your instructor feels that your child is in the wrong group we will do our best to move them into a more suitable group for their ability. Every group is different and it is part of our instructor’s jobs to match the groups the best they can on ability. Do not worry if your child ends up in a different group to the one they started.

Yes if they are the same ability. If they are different ages and levels then we advise against it. They would need to go into the lower level and this would affect the progression on the other child. All of our instructors are super friendly and used to this kind of situation. They will ensure your child feels safe and comfortable.

The Snow School uses The Snowlife awards. Your child will receive a certificate and badge on their last day. They will be awarded a level based on the instructor’s assessment during the week.

Your ski rental with automatically include poles, so take them. However if your child is a complete beginner then they will not need poles for the first couple of days. After day one its best to check with your instructor for the next day.

For groups they can start at 5yrs old, private lessons we would recommend them being at least 3yrs old.

Yes, please provide your child with some money each day for our drink/snack stop. Its a good idea to put a snack in their pocket too in case they get hungry.

Your child’s safety is our main concern and we have strict procedures in place to ensure they stay safe and enjoy their time on the snow. All children will be given a helmet cover on the first day and they must wear them throughout the week. The instructor will have each caregivers telephone number for every child. We also have a sign in/out procedure in place. We ask for the details of the nominated adult who will be picking up your child every day.

If your child has a fall or an accident, their instructor will be there to help straight away. All of our instructors are first aid trained, and ski patrol will be called if extra help is needed. We’ll let you know straight away and keep you updated. Your child’s safety and well-being are always our top priority.

We don’t offer any full day children’s group lessons. From feedback, we have found our customers love 4hr group lessons. Its enough time for the adults and also enough time to spend the afternoon with your children.
